Dakota opened his eyes, then decided he was better off with them shut. He’d been staring up into Tesla’s bosom for the exact 2.1 seconds his eyes had been open. Tesla was leaning over him, and her hand was on his forehead. She might have been checking his temperature.
“Mom.” His voice escaped him in a weak rasp. “Wha’re you doin’?”
